Metaphors & Similes

Metaphors & Similes, are rhetorical devices that involve comparing seemingly unrelated entities as if they were the same. They help us to understand or reinforce the unapparent when compared to the apparent. You here them all the time! Post your best metaphor or simile . Give an explanation of your posting.

Here are mine:

" Life is like a box of chocolates, you never know what you're going to get" - Forest Gump
( Implies the uncertainty of life by comparing it to an assortment of chocolates.)

" An emotional roller coaster"
(Implies the inconsistency in moods. UP AND DOWN= HAPPY AND SAD)

"The early bird gets the worm"
(Implies the earlier you get started the better off you are.)
